Welcome to Brighten Blades!  We are excited to share our high quality knives with a beautiful twist and a positive message.  We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

Our founder Diane has been in the knife industry for over 20 years and has traveled the world developing amazing knives.  She has worked with the best knife manufacturers in the world.  She has worked closely with knife designers, quality control teams and manufacturers worldwide.  Diane has worked with industry leaders including Fox, Klim, Traeger, and Browning. She has worked tirelessly to find the best sources for materials, manufacturing and designs.  

Her passion for knives has spilled over to her three daughters.

Kristy graduated with her degree in Business Multi-Media and gives our knives the beauty and fun that we are known for. Each knife is an original design custom made for Brighten Blades. 

Katie graduated with her degree in Technical Sales.  She has spent many years writing for different publications. 

Kimi also graduated in Technical Sales and has been working with Diane for several years doing product developing and sales. She recently accepted the Knife of the Year award on behalf of Fox.

HOW WE CAME TO BE

Okay I hate to admit it but we shop a lot online!  The UPS and FedEx drivers know each of us by name.  We hated always grabbing a kitchen knife or scissors to open our packages.  If our husbands were home they carried a pocket knife and we could borrow it but……..  We wanted our own, but we didn’t want a “man’s” knife!   We also didn’t just want a cheap pink knife either!  We wanted a women’s knife that was fun and fit great in a women’s hand. 

Diane Carver (yes, that is this knife lady’s real name), had been pondering how to leave a positive lasting impression on the world.  As she thought about her field of expertise, and how she could incorporate her product knowledge into this goal, she had the inspiration for this company hit her all at once. 

With decades of working in the knife industry she knew she wanted to start a new knife company unlike any other.  She wanted beautiful knives that were made for a woman’s hand, and to inspire others in the process.  She couldn’t wait to get things started, and she knew just who she wanted for her coworkers, her three daughters, Kristy, Katie and Kimi.  The three daughters had received many knives as gifts over the years, but when Diane explained her vision they bought in right away.  Everyone took on a different responsibility and set to work, although they will admit that many of the meetings took way longer than they should have, since they laughed and talked at all hours of the day and night to prepare the launch of this new business.

These are the feelings that we had when we created Brighten Blades amid all of the craziness of 2020.  Even when we see fighting and arguing in the media, we have seen more LOVE shown from friends, neighbors and even strangers.  When we have seen frightening images, we have also seen opportunities to stand up and be RESILIENT as well as people who inspire us to be BRAVE. We have decided that this is the time to make our WISHES come true and make our DREAMS happen!  We HOPE that you find your DREAMS and the things that make you LAUGH and be HAPPY.  Have FAITH because better things are coming!
